Under the auspicious guidance of Samani Satya Pragyaji and Samani Rohini Pragyaji, JVB New Jersey celebrated Maryada Mahotsav on Feb 12-14 at the Iselin Center. This celebration was a symbolic representation of the grand Maryada Mahotsav that was celebrated under the auspicious guidance of Acharyashri Mahashraman in Kishanganj, Bihar, India on the same three days. This 3-day Maryada Mahotsav is being celebrated in India annually for over a century, when hundreds of Sadhus, Sadhvis, Samans, Samanis, and Shravaks from all over India and the world, congregate under the leadership of Acharyashri. The festival celebrates and highlights various attributes of the organization such as Seva Ka Sanskar, Sanghiya Shakti – Shravak aur Shravikayen, and Maryada aur Anushashan. Samanijis spoke about the history, importance, and various customs and practices of the Mahotsav. Through the relating of personal experiences and anecdotes, Samanijis discussed how the values celebrated during these 3 days are crucial to the strength and growth of the organization and form the basis for all the work that the organization does in order to spread the message of Bhagwan Mahavir and propagate the Jain way of life. Sessions on all three days were very well received by the attendees.
